Nursery school trends

- Crocs so popular they were banned this year! All the same!
- Moving to email this year, rather than notes home. At last!
- Still have a phone tree though. Class Parents sought.
- Scholastic book order on the table!
- No nuts at all even in your own lunch.

Invention: handheld home videophone

- the size of an older cordless phone
- 2.5 inch display
- giant rechargeable battery
- small camera facing viewer and on opposite side too
- run a skype client
- mic and speaker
- cradle charges, links via usb to PC for config
- but has wifi
- it's a handheld video skype terminal!
- it's for parents/babies w their far off grandparents (or near) AND it's for small businesses that want ultra-cheap-no-setup teleconferencing for 1-1s
- probably costs $99

Podcasting is over. Agree?

Didn't it seem like podcasting would be a big deal once upon a time? No longer. Live streaming music over wireless (Pandora), my favorite content rescinded to own websites (Meet the Press), failure of wireless sync to emerge (even on iPhone)...= nobody podcasts anymore.

Pascale's milestones this month

September is young -- not even back to school yet -- and Paz has impressed me with three fantastic feats already.
1. She talked to the waitress at dinner last night. I had to go with her but she said "Can I have a piece of paper please?" and even gave her some answers like "I'm 2!"
2. Today at the park she went over and said hello to some little kids. With prompting. And the other kid just marched on -- scaredy cat!
3. She swam! After 2 weeks in the pool upstate she refused to a)wear floaties and b)swim on her own. Now that we are back -- she swam like a fish in our pool! 20 minutes of laps, 'I swim by myself', total independence and some good kicks/arms to get around. Nice!
